How are wigs priced?
Most of us want to get the most for our money–and we want the best quality. We will explain during your consultation the varied pricing within the wig industry. Prices vary according to the hair fiber and cap construction. And, they can vary greatly. Here is a general guideline to pricing of the many different wigs on the market.
Synthetic wigs are less expensive than human hair wigs. Synthetic wigs are affordable and offer varying degrees of quality. Synthetic wigs come in different cap styles that contribute greatly to the look, feel, comfort and price of a wig.
Classic Cap: This is the least expensive cap option available on the market. They generally start out at $259.00. Please see our Wig Caps Page for a complete description.
Monofilament Top: Monofilament Caps vary in price according to the other features of the wig. You can find a monofilament top in any cap design. Lace Front: Similar in variation to the monofilament top, Lace Front Caps vary in price according to the other features of the wig. You can find a lace front top in any cap design. Human Hair Fibers
Hand Tied Cap: This is the best cap construction available. Because it is fully handmade, it is the most expensive on the market. These wigs start out at $500.00 but will vary depending on other features such as hair fibers. Please see our Wig Caps Page for a complete description.
Blended Wigs are a combination of synthetic and human hair fibers. This provides a quality increase over straight synthetic wigs while providing the ease of care of synthetic wigs. Because, they contain 50% or more of Human Hair fibers, they will be more expensive than synthetic wigs. However, these are often times a more affordable option over human hair wigs. these wigs are often times a combination of handtied, monofilament and lace front. These wigs will start out at $1250.00.
Human Hair Wigs are generally more expensive. Human hair wigs price can be directly associated with the type of hair fibers. they come with nicer caps, so caps will not determine pricing of these wigs. Factors contributing to price of the wig are the length, quality, type and color of the human hair fibers. We have several samples of Human Hair fibers available for you to look at and try on. Human hair wigs start out at $1650.00. There are different Types of Human Hair available on the market:

INSURANCE REINBURSEMENT:
If you are filing insurance, we can provide a letter for ‘medical necessity for a cranial prosthesis’, and a receipt showing payment. Submit these with your doctor’s prescription to the insurance company for reimbursement. Some insurance companies will reimburse at least a portion of the expense, most cover 60% to 100% once per year. Medicare does NOT cover the cost of a wig, but most Medicare supplemental plans do.
